In 2019, we have been collaborating with Toitoi Publishing and Victoria University of Wellington’s School of Languages and Cultures (SLC) to publish a journal of New Zealand children’s writing and artwork that explores our connections to the cultures of Latin America.
Every story has been translated by the SLC into either Spanish or Portuguese and Teacher Support Material booklet is being produced to accompany the journal.
4,000 copies of the publication and support material will be distributed to schools and public libraries throughout New Zealand at the beginning of 2020. The goal of this project is to create a conversation between young people through the arts, and to explore our connections to the incredible cultures and languages of Latin America.
